Flooding on the Flint River

This is from December 22, 2009. The Flint River is flooding due to heavy rains from the previous week! Some flooding is happening in low lying areas around Albany!
The level of the river was about 24 ft at time of the pics!
The bench and trash can at bottom left are on the walking path!

Mountain Stream

Here's a pic of a small stream in the Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park.
This stream is at the base of a waterfall about 3 miles up the Porter's Creek Trail!

Fall Colors

Just returned from an October trip to the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park in Tennessee & North Carolina!
The leaf color in the lower elevations were excellent, but almost gone at higher elevations!
Visited some areas of the park that I had not seen before, & shot a couple of panoramas that turned out pretty good. I'll post those later!

Bald River Falls - Tellico Plains TN

Traveled through the Cherohala Skyway in North Carolina & Tennessee, coming out in Tellico, TN.
Took the side road down to Bald River Falls! My first time at this waterfall, but an excellent sidetrip if your in the area!
No pics from the Skyway, too many low clouds on this day!

Great Smoky Mtns. National Park

Just returned from a trip to the GSMNP in Tennessee & North Carolina, had a great trip even though there were rainshowers every day! I'll be posting a couple of pics in the next couple of weeks! Enjoy!

The Bridge House

This is the newly renovated "Bridge House" along the Albany Riverfront!
It was formerly an auto parts business for many years, but when originally built, was the crossing house for the old wooden bridge over the Flint River!
The building now houses the Albany Welcome Center! Be sure to visit this historical building when your at the Riverfront!

Owl's Head Light

This is Owl's Head Light in Maine, rumored to be inhabited by a couple of ghosts!
Currently in service with the U.S. Coast Guard.
